I graduated top of my class from a journalism program in 2000. Since then, I’ve been using my writing and editing skills in a variety of ways.

After becoming a member of Magazines Canada in late 2019, I was fortunate to find Carole’s website in my search for an editor for Canadian Vegan Magazine, now known as Global Vegan Magazine. As someone who does business as The Vegan Writer, she was the perfect fit.
With the most recent articles Carole wrote for the Winter 2022 issue, I noticed once again how close she is to her work and that her articles are beautiful storytelling. We’re incredibly fortunate to have her writing for us.
Carole has been part of our volunteer team since 2019, editing articles and writing press releases for the Vegan Society of Canada and the Vegan World Alliance. She has proven to be reliable and we have come to depend on her.
I admire the way she recently edited a critical and lengthy 6-page document, because I imagine it wasn’t easy to remove the fluff while keeping what was necessary to make our point in a professional manner. Fixing typos is one thing, but this type of editing requires exponentially more skill.
I hired Carole to copyedit my forthcoming book in early 2022. It was important to me to hire a vegan editor as I want all aspects of my book to be vegan. Carole is the only other Canadian vegan editor I know aside from myself!
She is thorough, super knowledgeable about the Chicago Manual of Style, meticulous, and intelligent with her queries. She also provided some swipe copy for potential endorsers.
My manuscript is better because of her work, and I can’t wait to share it with the world soon.
